After catching his main target on his first bite, Wez decided to carry on and try and catch a few more of the lakes gems. It didn’t take long and Wez caught pretty much every week there after. Fancying somethings a bit different, Bardo headed for the mighty river Trent in search of a double figured “Prince of the river”. 24 fish and 8 doubles later you could say it was a successful trip! Incorporating his beloved squid Boilies and the new Barbus squid ground bait, he actually wound in at one point to get some much needed shut eye. After watching fish taking a certain patrol route Matt set about positioning rigs in place. Not needing lots of bait he dropped in solid bags pumped full of amino 30 bang on there route. A special milestone in any carp anglers path is his first 30iber. A big fish wherever you are! This mega fish came from the Wharf in Cardiff. Fishing squid crumb and pellet to a firm silty area, this lovely fish picked up his 12mm pop up a bit out the blue. Ready to reel the rods in and go for a mooch, that last 5 mins was all it took lol Awesome Mark well done. Continue reading
Simon Poll was chuffed to bits when this cracking mid 20 fully rolled in to the net. After observing fish in the morning he decided to bait the area and leave them to it. John Hill spent the spring in pursuit of one particular fish. This resides in a low stocked small pit that is notoriously tricky. After several sessions of baiting and watching, unfortunately the fish came out to another angler. A bit deflated he carried on and found an absolute money spot which he’d watched the fish using. A tweak to the rigs and a bit of shrimping later, 2 bites in a morning were produced. Just a matter of time on the most wanted. Continue reading
Having had a productive spring on the infamous white swan, one fish in particular was on Daz’s list. At 4.30am his alarm woke him to see an absolute jacuzzi going off over his couple of kg of shrimp. Having fished a couple of nights his eyes were too heavy and he drifted back off. At 7.30am he woke again and all the activity had subsided and he thought the chance had melted away, but at 8am a slow steady take was followed by a heavy battle in the weed.
