A couple of recent crackers for Lee Hol from the Pride of Derby complex. With his main syndicate shut he headed down to his other ticket. Although having no fished it for a while the fish where no different. Getting on fish and giving them a little and often approach of shrimp and squid soon had the bobbins flying. Only difference this time round was the inclusion of the soon to be released 8mm pop ups as a sight aid, the pastel orange ones doing the trick on this occasion. A lovely mid 30 common and a cracking upper 20 Continue reading

Luke’s not done quite as much fishing this spring but has still managed some impressive fish. Finding fish and where they want to feed isn’t something you can buy, but putting something in front of them they want to eat with gusto you certainly can! This lovely common came from just a sprinkling of shrimp with a matching pop up in the right place. Continue reading
Big Carp Marcus wasted no times getting his teeth in to his new ticket. His usual good watercraft and trusty 12mm pop ups, expertly placed and baited with plenty of shrimp bought on a flurry of bites. This 37Ib being the biggest of the bunch. Continue reading
This immense beast seen here (holding a huge common) is the man behind the phones these days. On a recent trip to carpasens he had an incredible week on the tricky venue. Landing several big carp, but this one eclipsed them all. Fishing a not so fancied area of the lake, but one that Paul knew would suit his style of angling lead to several big fish. Simple hinges with shrimp pop ups cast to likely areas where then sprayed with the throwing stick with plenty of matching bait. A 70ib+ carp is a heck of milestone and one that Continue reading
There’s absolutely no denying the devastating effect the Shrimp has had over the years. Especially in the Nene Valley, Cambs, Pete’s area. Not one offs but year after year for over 17 years. Andy Collicott here with one of St.Ives Meadows girls was yet another one of the complexes A team to slip up. Well done mate Continue reading
After having his first baby James has just had his first string of proper sessions together. A fruitful spring it has been. Catching consistently baiting with the ActiveNut and Shrimp on the Nene Valley syndicate. Simple tactics with matching hookbaits in areas James had seen consistent activity kept the bites coming. Good angling sir. Continue reading
After landing himself a ticket for the stunning complex that is St.Ives, Wez (in true Wez fashion), hit the ground running. On his first outing and his first bite (bit of a running theme ), caught one of the gems of the lake in the shape of this upper 30 common. As per, good solid angling and watercraft with a solid food source prevailed. Well done mate Continue reading
Young Cam recently went out armed with a mixture of squid and shrimp stabilised bait he picked up from the Trent Baits shop. Deploying a healthy amount with a small matching wafter over the top produced this cracking mid 20 old warrior and a new Pb. Well done mate plenty more where that came from. Continue reading
Lee Bailey was ecstatic and rightly so after slipping the net under this mid 40 brute. After years of trying, he finally caught his first Uk 40+ from his nene valley syndicate. A fantastic achievement and what a fish to do it with! Healthy helping’s of freshwater shrimp was Lee’s approach. Well done mate we are buzzing for you Continue reading
@carpzoo is home to some of the best fishing in france and is one of our favourite venues. Having not fished a spring before, an April trip invite was too much of a pull to turn down. Dan was fishing one swim in the day and another by night opting to leave the main area free of lines and a free feed for the fish. This worked perfectly as not 20 mins after putting the rod out after tea one of the lakes characters was pulling the rod of the rest. A simple shrimp wafter over around 3kg of freebies Continue reading
