That first bite of the year is always a special buzz. Fair to say Matt did it in style with this belter. Having the rare opportunity to get there in proper daylight Matt found some fish and introduced a small helping of shrimp. A rig was expertly placed in the edge and it didn’t take long. A bit of Sunday inspiration from springs gone by. The mighty Brushstrokes from Folly. A mega mirror and on a winter ticket no less. Hopefully John’s main Target slips up to his rods this spring. Continue reading
Some Carp just stop you scrolling…and this Cambs cracker and the lovely carp he’s holding do just that. Dave little with an absolute peach. It’s fair to say he’s had some belters since his transition to the dark side of Shrimp and Squid. Continue reading
Another angler that’s not been out much is Luke. But as always he makes up for it when he does. Venturing to the famous day ticket he deployed small white squid pop ups over crumb and pellet. He managed a couple of bites with this 38Ib common known as patch being the biggest. Continue reading
A lovelier man would me hard to find. But dashing good looks and charismatic charm is not all Mark is famed for. He does like a big old barbel. With rivers not being in the best of shapes he hasn’t been much over the winter. But what he describes as his perfect conditions where here, he wasted no time shutting his garage door and heading for the mighty Trent. It took all of 45 mins for this beauty to pick up his 20mm shrimp bait. Mega mate well done pal few more before the seasons out no doubt. Continue reading
Having not been fishing much in the winter Aaron decided to take advantage of the lovely Feb conditions we’ve had and head to the lovely Northy Park. Fishing a likely zone he deployed his favoured shrimp approach. Not long after, this cracking linear made an appearance. A great start to the year mate well done. Continue reading
A 40 at any time of the year is an impressive feat but it’s always sweeter in the winter. This cracking coloured mirror fell to a zig soaked in the squid glaze. One of our favourite liquids for all plastics and foams it just works!!! Some angling mate well done. Continue reading
Richard Ince recently headed over the channel for some winter chunks. Armed with particles and a load of crumb he ended up with a 30 fish hit. No winter tactics required, feed em and they will come!! Awesome as per mate. Continue reading
Old mill lakes up at Market Raisen has to be one of the best venues in the country for big n’s per acre. A ridiculous stock of carp which Ashley Arnold recently took advantage of on a winter ticket. Armed with our Damson Cream winter bait he had a cracking session including a couple of 40’s. Great angling mate I’m sure that won’t be the last Continue reading
