Save Savay Lake.
Savay Lake is a carp water steeped in fishing history, a water where many modern carp angling developments were first used, the home of many classic english carp and is without doubt one of the most stunning mature gravel pits in the UK.
However Sadly Savay lake is under threat due to the proposed plans of a new high speed rail link planned from london to birmingham. This link will also effect other waters in colne valley as well as some beautiful countryside and it will undoubtly cause untold carnage to all manner of wildlife along the way.
Please take a moment and follow this link and sign the petition we need 100,000 signitures on the petition inorder to get the matter debated in westminster.

Autumn News Update
Loads of captures again being reported from a variety of waters including as usual some of most demanding venues around. Shaun Gateley’s run continues with the capture of the biggie from St Ives Lagoon at 57lb 8oz on just his 3rd night on the lake. The big mirror is the 3rd British 50+ Shaun has banked on the Shrimp in the last 11 months. I have still been getting amongst them at Savay with a new PB common at 46lb 10oz being the highlight for me so far. All my Savay fish this year have been caught on the Freshwater Shrimp boilies. Pics of Shaun’s and my fish on the Gallery page.

Danny Brutons beautiful Linear, caught from a Cambridgeshire gravel pit, caught a lot of peoples imagination when it featured on the cover of a recent ‘Carp Talk’ this is the only the fishes third capture (another Trent Baits customer also caught I last year) Danny B and His friend Oli Bowles are enjoying their first year as Trent Baits Customers as both of them have banked a string of good fish with Oli’s recent capture of the Cambridgeshire gravel pit lake record common.(pics on gallery page) The two have caught more fish from Fen during a few months on the Liver Shellfish than the last couple of years on their previous bait, with both guys telling me how it has helped turn their angling around. Obviously these two have been putting the bait in the right places but, they insist the only change they have made with their angling this season is the change of bait!
Oli and Danny successes have not just been limited to a Cambridgeshire gravel pit, with some real quality fish also falling to the Liver in Essex and the Nene Valley, you can check out the pics on the Gallery Page.
August 2010 News Update

Finally getting round to the site updates we have had some really special captures reported again this summer from both home and abroad, Mark Bodell has had what can only be described as an incredible season banking a number of stunning and big fish including two awesome British mirrors of over 49lb+. You only need to see the pictures of them to understand why these are two of the UK’s most sort after fish. Mark has found success using our Freshwater Shrimp boilies and his captures this year also include other scalley mirrors to over 40lb and a new PB common. The Freshwater Shrimp has got a serious reputation for dominating catches on the waters where it is used and Marks capture of his latest big fish ‘Choco’ illustrates this perfectly on a busy circuit water which is constantly pressured and sees a large amount of different baits three out of Choco’s last four captures have been on the Shrimp.

Personally considering the limited time I have had to get angling this year I’m happy with how it’s gone. With a few nice fish to mid 30’s from the big pit this spring and five fish in five trips from Savay this summer, as usual the Freshwater Shrimp has been my weapon of choice, and with a bit of luck (and time depending) im well confident of some more action.
On the product development front the new fruity one we have been tweaking over the last couple years is nearing completion, judging by the consistency of the catch reports being received with UK fish to 47lb+ falling for the new gear. We have yet to decide on a name yet but with its super sweet fruit aromas and rich dark colour it is another year round bait which will stand out from the norm in terms of appearance, quality and undoubtedly results.
BACK TO BACK UK 50s ON THE SHRIMP
News just in ..... 09.03.10 Shaun Gateley kicked off the year in style with a massive 50lb 10oz mirror. The mirror was tempted with our Freshwater Shrimp Boilies in freezing winter conditions. The fish is Shaun's second UK 50 in the last few months after he banked Choco at 53lb at the back end of last year. See pics of Shaun's latest fish on the gallery page.
As you would expect loads of great captures reported again last year both from the UK and abroad. Trent Baits consultant Jason Hayward had yet another fine season catching consistently from a number of venues, with 40lb + fish from no less than 3 different waters. The highlight for Jason though was surely a multiple capture including a 30lb+ common, a 42lb mirror and the massive stunning 54lb Linear pictured here.
Derby’s Shaun Gately also had one to remember banking a sting of big scaley mirrors.
Fishing a large Oxfordshire pit. Shaun’s impressive results included 10 fish over 30lb a absolute peach of a 40lb mirror, with the capture of Choco at 53lb+ being the icing on the cake.
Not only is Choco the new Oxfordshire record but along with Jason’s big linear must surley be one of the best looking 50’s around. All Shaun’s fish this year have fallen to our Freshwater Shrimp Boilies.
Another angler who racked up some good fish was ‘Browns’ from Nottingham who through the coarse of a season banked well over 40 including 15 30lb+ fish from Bundy’s pit all on the Liver Shellfish. Browns personal pick of his fish being this mint upper 30 mirror a fish which only rarely vists the bank.
North of the Border Ben Mir from Glasgow smashed the Scottish record by almost 5lb with a mid 30 common from a local canal.
